Q: Does the Office for the Aging provide transportation for seniors?

A: Yes. The Senior Transportation Program, sponsored by the Office for the Aging and operated by the Ulster County Area Transit, provides seniors 60 and older who are registered with the Transportation Program one shopping trip per week and two medical trips per week. At this time, door-to-door service is not available. When scheduling transportation, reservations for aides and/or companions must also be made.  Aides ride free, companions pay the regular fare. To make transportation arrangements, call UCAT Monday through Friday at 334-8120. Voluntary contributions help keep Senior Programs available.
